Coming this Friday (very early morning), the lunar crash in search of water. Either result will be significant http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33210044/ns/technology_and_science-space/

There is a twitter feed for those of you inclined to do something to stop it.

You're running out of time.

The entire population of our planet should be bracing itself against the inevitable moment of Mooninite retalliation.

I'm just glad NASA succeeded in crashing a probe into the moon. And that they said beforehand that that's what they meant to do. Could you imagine the humiliation if they'd missed?

Space.com wrote:

When a NASA spacecraft rammed into the moon in October, it tossed up a hard-to-see plume of lunar material.

...

But others found unnerving aspects to the LCROSS slam dunk.

In the Huffington Post, screenwriter Amy Ephron called it "NASA's own version of shock and awe" and put in motion a "Help Save the Moon" Twitter Page in the hope that readers "can convince NASA not to try any further experiments of this kind," she wrote.

"Well, I for one, don't like explosions. Call me a pacifist, call me cautious, call me an environmentalist, or call me something worse, I don't really care," Ephron explained.

...

"Lunar Crash" sounds like a groovy name for a 1960s cocktail. One part moonshine in a Googie-style flask made of Space Age nylon (c) suitable for holding and refilling during a cross-country trip on Route 66.
